This virtual dialogue focused on the contribution of ICLEI and its network of local and regional governments to the UN Decade of Action, by tackling climate change.

High-level speakers shared examples and challenges faced when addressing climate action, multilevel governance, financing, as well as influencing global advocacy processes.

The panelists (mayors/governors) doved into a discussion on accelerating climate action. Their focus was on the diversity of actions and multiple co-benefits that can be realized, also how to overcome the main challenges faced.

Creating synergies, partnerships (local, national, regional and global) and scaling up together  set the scene towards and beyond COP26. This was followed by brief presentations that reflect ICLEI’s strategy and the new GreenClimateCities  (GCC) Climate Neutrality Framework to guide the ICLEI Network. Further information will be provided on the Cities Race to Zero and Cities Race to Resilience. Check out the resources for this session here.
