Connecting Leaders
ICLEI World Congress 2009 – “Connecting Leaders”, took place between 14-18 June 2009, hosted by long-standing ICLEI Member City of Edmonton, Canada.
Delegates from local governments, international agencies, national governments, and the business community came together to discuss ways to improve the sustainability achievements of local governments. The event especially brought together Young Municipal Leaders to elevate the voices of youth and engage them more intensively in discussions.
The ICLEI World Congress 2009 aimed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and help local governments form new strategies. With a focus on concrete action and measurable results, the World Congress constituted a joint call for rapid action and rapid solutions.
